Racheal Njenga is a results-oriented and community-centered Gender and Education Program Specialist with over eight years of progressive experience in the design, management, and implementation of gender-transformative programs. Her expertise spans economic empowerment, education, health, peacebuilding, and child protection across both humanitarian and development contexts.

Racheal holds a Bachelor of Education (Arts) and a Master’s Degree in Gender and Development Studies, grounding her technical expertise with a strong academic foundation. Before transitioning into development work, she spent over five years as a teacher, where she gained invaluable firsthand experience in education delivery and the unique challenges faced by learners and educators.

Throughout her career, Racheal has demonstrated exceptional skill in education research, program planning and delivery, training facilitation, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL). She has a proven ability to build and sustain partnerships with teachers, school leaders, civil society organizations, and government agencies—fostering collaboration to drive systemic change and inclusive learning environments.

Her work has particularly focused on advancing gender equity, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response, and social inclusion. Racheal’s leadership in these areas reflects her passion for empowering women and girls and ensuring that educational spaces are safe, inclusive, and transformative.

With her strong background in project management, capacity building, compliance, and accountability, Racheal continues to contribute meaningfully to national and regional conversations on education and gender equality. Her commitment to empowering communities through education and equitable opportunities underscores her vision of a society where all individuals, regardless of gender or background, can learn, lead, and thrive.
