Jared King’oina is an accomplished economist and educator with a specialty in Economics and a strong background in Mathematics. He has built a distinguished career in public service and administration, demonstrating a deep commitment to youth empowerment, community development, and policy implementation.
Motivated early in life by a desire to make a meaningful impact in his community, Jared began his career in the civil service, where he served as Chief Youth Officer. In this capacity, he managed youth programs across a large district and worked closely with government initiatives, including collaborations with environmental officers and Members of Parliament. His leadership led to the establishment of environmental centers that supported a range of community-based projects promoting sustainability and youth engagement.
Jared also played a pivotal role in the formation of the Anti-Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Arbitration Board. Working alongside colleagues from the State Department for Youth Affairs & Creative Economy, he helped design the institution’s structure, branding, and program framework. His collaborative efforts with community groups and government agencies advanced advocacy, awareness, and funding for anti-FGM initiatives nationwide.
He later served as Second Adviser to the Principal Secretary at the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, where he supported two successive PSs, including Julius Sunkuli. In this role, Jared was instrumental in coordinating departmental priorities, representing the PS’s interests, and ensuring the timely execution of government policies and programs.
With extensive experience spanning youth development, environmental management, gender protection, and government advisory functions, Jared King’oina brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the Board. His career reflects unwavering dedication to public service, community empowerment, and the advancement of national development goals.
