Aaron Lesiantam is an accomplished development practitioner with extensive experience in management, administration, and community development. He has spent much of his professional life in the non-governmental sector, where he honed his expertise in program design, resource mobilization, and conflict resolution.
His career in the NGO world spans over a decade of impactful service. Aaron began his journey with a Nairobi-based organization renowned for its child sponsorship program established in 1976, which provided educational support and essential needs to underprivileged children. During his 14-year tenure, he contributed significantly to initiatives that enhanced community resilience, including agricultural and livelihood projects.
He later joined Winds of Change Foundation, where he managed corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. In this role, Aaron successfully coordinated efforts to secure funding from corporate partners—encouraging contributions of up to 1% of company CSR budgets—to implement community-driven projects. Under his stewardship, these initiatives led to the construction of laboratories, hospitals, and other vital community infrastructure, improving access to essential services.
In addition to his professional work, Aaron is an active community leader with a strong interest in public service and governance. He transitioned into politics to further champion community empowerment, a passion he shares with his family.
